Be sure to follow local Building code! In most municipalities you can find on line.
You need to first install a tile backer board to hold the weight of all tile on the bathroom/shower wall. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I73LgtN3gh4
Is the shower pan ok? If you're just doing the walls, home depot and lowes give classes of how to tile.
Lots of good info here and here's my 2 cents from experience.
Put waterproof sheeting behind the tile backer board for more protection for the framing from water damage. (We had to replace wet insulation behind the sheetrock the builder of our first house used instead of DurRock.)
Plan your tile pattern carefully for cutting and yes rent the wet saw for cutting those tiles.
Remember less grout to clean with larger tiles.
Be sure to seal the grout to prevent water leaks and mold.
Good luck, it is worth the hassle.
