Pick a laminate wood flooring that doesn’t look bad with oak cupboar
Hi this is Peggy. When we got our hardwood floors the store let us bring home samples. We put them on the floor and lived with them a few days before making a choice. I am sure the store will let you bring some home to try, just ask them. This is your home and you have to be the ones happy with the flooring. Good luck.
Instead of adding more wood look, consider laminate tile that looks like marble or granite. It would also be lighter. Actually better yet, look at solid luxury vinyl. Looks real and a better quality of flooring.
A kitchen floor is one of the rooms in a home that gets the heaviest use, is exposed to water, and requires frequent cleaning. Unfortunately many folks choose laminate mainly for the price, only to regret it later. For maximum longevity and durability, go with an alternate higher quality flooring option.
Also keep in mind that a darker coloured floor (of any type) will show more dust, hair, crumbs, thread, etc. much faster than a lighter coloured flooring.
I am thinking about replacing my tiles in the kitchen with that new Luxury Vinyl. Because it is waterproof and virtually stain resistant.
I agree lux vinyl is the way to go. For color I would stay light, and be aware of yellow tints they will bring the oaks golden or orange hues.
Were working on replacing our floors with luxury final planks and we have similar color of cabinets as you do. This is the color of flooring that we picked. We haven't done our kitchen yet but our railing is the same color as our cabinets. We used Cali Vinyl planks and the color is "aged hickory". The flooring is waterproof and it's supposed to have a 50 year residential warranty on it. Hope this helps.
50yr residential warranty sounds almost too good to be true. What exactly about the flooring is under warranty for this long? and under what conditions is this warranty void? Does it include labour?
In choosing materials for your home, choose what you like. Don't be over-swayed by claims referring to 'lifetime' or similar terms, and read all the fine print.
