Kill unwanted grass with vinegar. White or pickled vinegar is another great way to kill your grass without the use of harmful chemicals. It is safe and will not harm the environment. However, do not spray near any plants you wish to keep, as vinegar will kill them too.
Hi Thelma, Mow your grass as close to the ground as possible. Spray the entire surface with water to dampen it, then cover the grassy area with a clear tarp. The sun will bake the underlying area to as hot as 140 degrees Fahrenheit, which scorches and kills grass, weeds and soil bacteria.

Salt water and vinegar is cheaper than RoundUp, but may have new grass and weeds to grow back more quickly. Jewell
