Hi Dawnie, here's a great article that gives a whole bunch of tips on how to keep those bugs out - https://www.westernexterminator.com/blog/5-pest-control-tips-home-storage/
Do you have pantry moths?
Hi ! For both clothes and cabinets try cedar balls or squares ! Smell much better than moth balls !!! and you can send them down a little , if they lose their smell ! Also lots of bugs that you might find in your pantry don't like peppermint ! Get some peppermint oil and use a q tip to make a line of oil around the box about a 1/4 inch from the bottom of the box . Make your cupboards smell fresh , too !!! Also whenever possible , transfer stuff from boxes into glass jars of plastic containers with tight fitting lids . If you have pantry moths , it means you have items that you have stores for too long , time to clean out the cabinets .
If you have pantry moths or there little reddish bug (adult) they sell little pheramone traps to put in the cubboards to get rid of them. I found another way to rid them, put everything that's in a bag, box or package in a zip lock bag..... you will soon see which items are infected.
I have been dealing all my pantry items in plastic containers with clamp kids or screw on kids for decades. If a big problem occurs it is isolated to one canister, I can throw away the contents of the entire container. No bugs in the pantry. My 6 kitties get all the other bugs/ mice that are unfortunate enough to come in my home.😸
