How to get rid of grass in a flower bed without killing the plants
Hi I would like to know how to kill grass in flower beds without harming the plants. The plants are perennial and the grass is pasture.
you could put black plastic down leaving the flowers exposed. It would be a job but it could be done. I don't know what flowers you have. One time I had covered some daffodils and when spring came they came up right through the plastic. ;)
its s very tough, the best thing is to use a fabric block around the plants so the weeds don't grow and cover the fabric with the soil, but the weeds may still creep up.
You could try ortho Grass B Gone. It only kills the grass but read the label
Hello. The best way is to dig it out. Doing this after the it rains makes it much easier. Make sure you get it before it goes to seed and reseeds itself.
Weed by hand and always use a grass box on your mower.
You will have to hand-pull what is there. Then lay down landscape fabric and cover with mulch. Preen is also another good product for preventing the grass and weeds.
After rain it is easier to pull out the grass, then put down a weed block, You can use landscape fabric with a mulch covering but it will eventually fail and weeds and grass will regrow of new ones will take root on top of it.
