Cut the top of the pineapple off and place in water. Once roots start to form plant in a flower pot. Let it grow for a while then plant outside. May take awhile but you will get a pineapple.

I cut the top off of a pineapple and removed some of the bottom leaves. I just put it in an existing planter that had soil and two years later, my pineapple is ripening and getting ready to be picked. The mother plant dies after fruit but at the base of the pineapple there will be little shoots that you twist off and replant for more pineapples. It is a fun thing to do but the plant can span 4-6feet wide so put it in a sunny place with room for it to grow. We live in Fla so the sun was the easy part. Good luck it is really fun to do.
