Try a crayon the colour of your wood and rub it across the scratch. I have even used metal polish and special scratch wax fillers..........

Yes, try Old English.
I minimized scratches on my daughter's dining room table with gel stain that matched the finish. I cleaned wax, etc. off first and then applied the stain, wiping off most of it. Gel stain does not have to soak into the wood like regular stain.
For scratches, Old English works great.
