How do I keep a rocking chair from “walking” ?
I have two rocking chairs on my front porch. The floor is inside/outside carpeting. Whenever I rock, the chair moves forward as if it is “walking.”
Is there a way to keep my chairs from moving forward while I’m rocking? Thank you in advance.

I think its just how you are rocking, mine doesn't do that.
Hello there, Try not to rock too far forward (Equal out the rocking motion) Best wishes -
I would suggest that you try glueing a little piece of thin non-slip rubber just behind the lowest point on the rocker. Try it on one rocker first, then if it seems to help do the other side.
YOU could do 2 things. 1. Your rockers have worn down & need sanding & varnishing again. 2. Place a large rubber mat under the space to accommodate BOTH rockers & they shouldn't move around like they're doing.
You're welcome.
