How do I upcycle a hanging pot holder?

I have a black metal, multiple pot holder that is usually mounted in a kitchen. I would like some ideas of how to convert to some other use.

How about using it as a base for a potted plant? You could paint and add some small legs (think decorative wood spindles from craft stores) to add height.
Hang from a tree or arbor to hang plants from.
Hi Janice, you could give it new life by painting it a nice metallic color and hang it on the fence outside to put rakes etc, on. Or depending on the style, you could use if for putting plants on. Can you post a picture of it?
I would hang it on its side and add hooks to hold tools in the garden .
