Apple cider vinegar, water, sugar and dish soap is recommended. Try a spray bottle or mix a little of each and put in a small bowel. Good luck!
Hi Sharon,
If they are inside, the best way is by prevention, meaning, they come in as eggs on your fruit and vege's. So when you arrive home with these, immediately wash and refrigerate, this kills the eggs. For the drain where you have them, use 1/2 cup baking soda and follow with 1 cup white vinegar, when the fizzing stops rinse with a good amount of hot water. You might want to consider keeping your drains covered.
Now for this airborn gnats, get a sticky cardboard trap-you can get these at Walmart really cheap in the pest control section, these are the ones for catching mice. On that trap, place a small piece of sweet decaying fruit, they will be drawn to it and land on the cardboard, stuck for good.
Hi Sharon, When I managed a bar we got them real bad from the beer tap sink. The only thing that I found that worked really well was Hot Shot No Pest Strips. I use them at home too. Here is a link to check it out.

I had a terrible gnat problem and the vinegar traps worked perfectly! Simply place a few tablespoons of apple cider vinegar or white vinegar, a few drops of dish soap, and a tablespoon of sugar in a bowl and stir. Set your bowl in an area where gnats are prevalent, such as your kitchen or bathroom. This took care of my problem in just a couple of days!
