3D Window Cling
To help with privacy and summertime heat, we installed window film/cling. Wow what a difference immediately with the summertime heat! Plus we love the rainbow effect this particular pattern gives off!
We moved into LuckyHomeToday at the beginning of summer last year. We had doubled the size of our old apartment and additional challenge of going from single story to a double story. There was a bunch of window blinds to purchase, too. One I difficult finding was for the vertical windows by the front door and the half circle in the loft.
While this is fairly easy to get at most home improvement stores, trying to agree on the design of the window cling was a whole different fight. There was a lot more options available on Amazon and I was finally able to get my hubby to agree to it!
The instructions were pretty simple. Cut it out, clean and wet the window, smooth it out and viola! It didn’t take me long to get this up. I liked the rainbow effect it gives off and considered other windows we could do it on. Depending on the size of the window/space you're putting it on, a small squeegee might help!
As the summer continued on, we noticed that the loft gets really, really hot in the afternoon since the sun is on it. I really struggled looking for a solution. We got the blinds set up, but it was still hot. Mr. G finally said to try the window cling.
The roll is 17.5 inches wide. It took several horizontal strips to cover this window. As it was going up, I noticed the temperature dropping within the room. As an added effect, it made rainbows all over the carpet and walls.
I had also purchased 3 rolls. They are a little over 6 1/2 feet long. I wanted to ensure I had plenty for the multiple windows I was going to cover. I still have some left over and might do some creative projects with them!
I was pretty amazed at the end result!
With a bit of creativity, and some Pinterest inspiration, I have seen other usage of this privacy window cling.
