How do I remove rust stains off of linoleum?
When my husband replaced our toilet, I noticed rust stains toward the back of the toilet. I have tried using SoftScrub and CLR to no avail. Please help! Thank you.
Hi Pat,
I take mine down the clean it with a sponge using warm water and dish soap or a concentrated liquid cleaner. I do it gently so as not to affect the actual shade. Most of the time that works fine. Once it's relatively clean, if there is still a small stain, I spray on a light mist of hydrogen peroxide. Wishing you the best.
If it has some wood or something else that is an integral part of it, I would wash it in the bathtub. First use rustleum on the rust stains and then wash it all in tub.
If the blind is white, I use hydrogen peroxide. I have a spray bottle with it handy.
Very helpful. Thank u
I use Lestoil for all laundry stains, so it would work here too. Just dampen the stain with water, pour Lestoil in it's bottle cap to dribble it in to the stain, lest soak for a bit, then rub till stain disappears. Rinse well and the strong scent of Lestoil disappears. I just got ink that was set out of white pants, it gets black oil out of jeans using a scrub brush as well as those faint oil stains from dropping food onto t shirts that used to make them destined for rags. It has to be Lestoil, not similar products. I still remember the jingle from commercial from the 60's or 70's "It's so easy when you use Less toil"
I love lestoil!! Thanks
Hello, hope this helps you out,
Lightly vacuum both sides of shade using a brush or upholstery attachment. Softly brush with a mild detergent and warm water solution. Rinse thoroughly and allow the shade to dry completely before raising. Do not immerse in water.
