How do I evict fleas from upholstered furniture?

I use Seresto flea collars. I live in an area with a lot of fleas and haven't seen one on my pets all spring and now summer time also. The collars are nice because they last 8 months. And with collars there is no messy chemical to apply to the pets. Goggle Seresto flea collars for more info.

Eucalyptus leaves or oil in spray bottle with water approx. 1 part oil with 3 parts water. Also put leaves under couch cushions under mattress under upholstered items

Have you consulted with your vet? Getting rid of fleas is a process inside and out. You must be diligent. Here are some things you can try.

Have you tried putting a little vinegar in their water? Just a tsp. My cat refused to drink it so I rubbed some on her coat. The fleas don't like the taste of the blood anymore. I switched her to brevecto dab on. Costs more but last for 3 months.

sprinkle diatomaceous earth all over inside your furniture,on carpet it can irritate pets nose, feet, eyes ...... may need to throw it out seriuosly fleas are really hard to get rid of. you can even have them in your car upholstery,lawn,carpet,on pets need to treat everything simultaneously and repeat it all every 30 days for at least 3 mos-4; don't use essential oils on your furniture or around your cat they cannot tolerate them will make them very ill also burn dogs nose; becareful what you use on your pets should be administered thru a vet it is all toxic/ pesticides even the collars it all says hazardous on packaging can give them additional skin problems as well as liver,kidney

Hi Teri you can try this,

Couch

1. Remove the couch cushions. Take off the covers and wash them in hot water if they are removable and washable.
2. Vacuum the cushions thoroughly.
3. Vacuum your couch thoroughly with an upholstery brush attachment. Be aggressive about getting into all folds and crevices, and underneath the couch.
4. Remove the vacuum bag immediately and place it into a plastic bag. If you have a bagless vacuum, empty the contents of the bin into a plastic bag. Seal the bag shut with tape and freeze it overnight before disposing of it.
