Part of your question got cut off Anna! Can you add more information. I am not sure who or what you want to make it more user friendly for. I know adding more baskets would help but I am not sure if that is the answer you are looking for.

Yes, I would definitely add some hardware! Touch up the paint and add 3 more baskets. :)
It looks like the basket holds toiletries. Perhaps add higher legs to console height or mount it on the wall for easier access?
In addition to hardware, you could add labels. If more pull out baskets aren't what you want, you could also get some lazy-Susan spinners in the kitchen gadget area that will allow access to items in the back. Depending on the diameter, I think you can also find double-decker ones, too.
Add hardware to open, matching baskets on the shelves.
