My budget is very limited, using things that are available. Just trying to organize my garage. Thanks
I'd start with a sharpie marker and some storage bins. One for hammers, one for pliers, one for electrical, one for rollers and paint brushes, etc. Cardboard boxes work fine. Lids are usually unnecessary and just in the way. Often you just need to label the shelf.
Our garage looks somewhat like yours but my husband won't let me touch it. He says it's his stuff and he knows were every last thing is so I can't organize. I wish I could though because I think it would look a lot better and be easier to find stuff. Good luck with your mission.
Hey Melissa! You sound a lot like me in the wee hours of the morning. ; ) I would start by getting some clear storage bins or even cardboard boxes and start by sorting everything into like categories. Paint, tools, etc.....and breaking them down even further depending on the types of items you have. Try to edit down any duplicates and only keep what you really use.
I agree with Jessica. We had the same dillema of few years a go and we did just that. Then I labeled every storage container cupboard with large labels I made with my puter/printer. My reluctant hubby was suddenly proud of his nice garage.
Ha! I do the same thing, creep about in the wee hours of the morning . . . Your garage looks neat to me, mine is a mess! Want photos??? You have some fantastic suggestions here, I am sure you will get it in shape in no time!
You all are soooooo awesome!!! Thank you for your advice and words of encouragement!!
So I'm 85% done (I took a few breaks) ;)
But got my marker, tape/adhesive spray, labels, boxes and plastic containers and moving along!
Will send pics when finished! :)
