How can we re-level a concrete floor so it is all of uniform height?
We are re-doing a covered patio. The area was formerly a "room" and it apparently had been added onto 3 times, so the concrete floor has 3 different levels. There is also residue from a carpet that was glued down to the entire floor. We'd like to level and stain or paint the concrete floor. Any suggestions for the best way to accomplish this?

You don't state how much the different levels are. photos would help. Don't know if you would need to level with concrete or resurfacer.
Mineral Spirits to remove the residue. Then score the existing flooring. Depending on how severe you can add floor leveler or add more concrete.
Whatever you decide to do, make sure it has the proper slope away from any structure. You don't want water seeping in between the patio and house or structure and have water intrusion which is expensive to repair.
OK. Just a little out of level. Once you have the residue off, concrete clean and dry. Fill the crack. It may be the slab is moving but may not go further. You can resurface the concrete with self leveling concrete resurfacing compound. Staining is a lot of work and may not work since the stain needs to penetrate into the slab. Painting would be the best option. If the crack does come back you can just fill it in and touch up paint.
