I would like to keep the table top I have but put higher legs on it to make it a pub height.

Make some huge candlesticks? That's what I am planning to do with mine (when I get round to it๐).
Fran we made a short table/bench for me since I had shoulder surgery and it hurts to lift my arms to mix or make anything. It sits under our kitchen table ready for me to use when needed. Also, people have repurposed them as bases for tall candle holders on a mantle and other decorative areas. Here is one tutorial for you, hope it helps: https://www.hometalk.com/diy/decorate/rooms/up-cycled-furniture-leg-candlesticks-33200166
How to Make Upcycled Furniture Legs Candlesticks
Hi, Fran!
This sounds like an awesome project! The obvious choice would be to use them under a new table top but I've also seen them used to create candle holders or cut down to create an ottoman or footstool (depending on how ornate they are!). I hope this helps!
