This would generally not be needed because Contact paper is washable. But any poly acrylic coating will add extra protection from water. Depending on how porous the surface beneath the paper is, you may want to paint a primer first. But that’s an unusual amount of prep and finish for Contact paper. Best wishes, Jewell.

Not sure you should do that. It could bubble the contact paper and acrylic poly will peel off it.
