Trish, just coat it with a clear waterproof oil-based sealer. Make sure you use waterproof materials and seal well, including the edges and seams. Good luck! Jewell
Yes, 2-3 coats of what is often called “marine varnish”.
Hi Trish,
Is your faux brick created with paint or something else? You'll want to look for something specifically for the material that was used to create it. There are a lot of great sealers available. I'd go to a local hardware store where they have people who know their products and talk with the people there. Once they've made a suggestion, I'd personally look for product reviews online. That can really let you know how other people find that product and if it works well. We had a faux stone backsplash installed, which was a type of tile and the contractor sprayed it so it would be easy to clean. (Unfortunately, it wasn't a DIY so I don't know what he used.) You can also look at Lowes, Home Depot, Menard's, etc. Just don't rush into buying until you've taken the time to research reviews. I hope this helps you. Wishing you the best.
Protect it with polycrylic, which is suitable for all surfaces. https://amzn.to/2PxwKUu

Hi Trish, you will want to use a clear polyurethane sealant is highly recommended. The sealant, in either a satin or matte finish, will help keep air and moisture out and also keep stains from bath products, food, oil, and cooking fumes at bay.
