clean with Crud Kutter or something similar then paint. Roll on the flat surfaces on and any deeper grooves use a brush. You can use any paint you want.
Hi ! I did a lot of research before painting my 40+ year old cabinets . I wanted to skip sanding them, if possible . I came up with 2 different ways . 1. ChAlk paint and wax sealer or Benjamin Moore advance paint . My sister did the chalk paint way and I did the advance paint . They both came out great and after almost 3 years both ways have held up well . I think the paneling will take fine to either method . You will need to use a de greaser , like krud Kutter and if your cabinets are unpainted wood use their de glosser, too . I posted a tutorial on this site where you can see step by step how I did it and tips . It's called , " new kitchen on a budget " . Good luck !!!
You will want to clean everything well to remove grease and crud, sand lightly, clean again, and use a primer first. A separate primer NOT a paint with primer in it. Another helper suggested Benjamin Moore Advance paint! A good choice! I used Sherwin William acrylic latex paint in an enamel finish-similar to Benjamin Moore! Great results! Hi Roxanne, you could separate these two with different paint types, I would use chalk paint on the cabinets, by making a line with painters tape, you can separate the two. I would use regular latex on the paneling, but you could do the chalk paint on there too, it has such a beautiful look! Hope this video helps you out,
