How can I get rid of fleas that are on my newborn kitten?
my new baby kitten, a month old, is covered with fleas. how can I kill fleas since commercial products can't be used until 12 weeks.

Use a flea comb, gently, on him, then: Bath time for the baby. While he's wet you can see the fleas better. Crush each one with tweezers and remove the body. The fleas probably aren't dead so flush them down the toilet. Treat the area where the kitten is living if he was born at your house. If he's new to your household, that any other animals you have for fleas. This kitten is really young to be away from mom so keep a close eye on him. Fleas can cause anemia and he's probably got internal parasites. Take him to the vet as soon as you can.
some flea medications can be used on kittens as young as 6 weeks. Check with your vet to see what they recommend.
