What are your thoughts on buying new vs used appliances?
Hey guys,I'm running a cafeteria for the past few years. I'm thinking about buying some appliances like a countertop cooler, 2 door freezer for my shop, but I don't have enough money to buy all new appliances. A few of my friends suggested buying used true 2 door freezer and cooler. But it takes more time investment in looking for appliances and checking out to see if it works or not. Also, I heard that the best refrigerator model you buy might work fine and break down in a week. So I'm in confusion. Buying a new machine would have cost me more than the cost of buying a used appliance. Any thoughts on buying used and new appliances? Is it worth to buy a used appliance?

I always go for a new as it comes with warranty otherwise I am very frugal person however electronics or any appliances always go for a new one. That's my personal opinion though.
If you're depending on your appliances for your business, you certainly don't need failure. New appliances will come with a warranty so that if anything breaks down, you're covered. Can you scale back on your current needs so that you can afford new (is it practical to keep using what you have for a while)? Maybe buy your most pressing need now and wait until you have more funds to buy more?
It's always a hard decision between new vs. used, but I think if your income is depending on your equipment and failure means lost income, that's a high risk to take by buying used that you have no warranty on.
