Mary....Pretty easy if you have a room or can just use a corner that might be available. What are your questions concerning it?
Hi Mary, I think it's all about organization. If you are trying to use a dual space, like a bedroom or a den, you need to think about pieces that can fit in the rooms. If you don't have a room you can carve space out of a closet. There are tons of cute closet offices. You can also use an armoire that folds out with desks, etc. Here is home office that might inspire you. https://www.hometalk.com/diy/home-office/furniture/diy-home-office-6709893
DIY Home Office
A pair of metal file cabinets topped with an old door or planks is a great start. Add shelving to the wall behind it for supplies.
Hi Mary,
It depends on the reason you want an office. If it's for personal use, you can combine it with another room. Just have a desk with a computer desk, printer and chair. If it's an office for a home-based business and you want the tax deduction, it should be the only use of that room. Hopefully you will have an unused bedroom or large closet that can be transformed. Again, you'll want a desk, printer, dedicated phone (cell phone is okay) and chair. Also think about anything paper that will need filing. Look at local thrift shops for filing cabinets or ReStore from Habitat for Humanity. You can paint the desk/chair/cabinet, etc. If it's for a home-based business, remember that anything you buy for that room is a tax deduction. Be sure to keep records and receipts. :) Wishing you the best.
