You may need to check that the slides are in good shape. Maybe some of it is chipped off?
Hello, Recently saw a sucessful rehab with older wooden drawers on a wall mounted hutch them hand plane down the bottom-side of the wood drawer and followed up with bars soap lubrication— on TOH programing.
If you can locate the area where it gets stuck sand the spot with some sandpaper. Wood expands and contract with temp changes.
Sand the sides and bottom rails of the drawers and anywhere they rub on the inside of the dresser. If the sides or tops of the drawers are painted, sand the paint completely away. Then wax the sides to help them glide easier.
One more tip, older dressers are built different. Each drawer has a specific spot where it was built for. Try switching them around and see if they fit better somewhere else.
