How do I seal painted wood?
What sealant can I use on painted wood, items covered with joint compound, resin and pottery that won’t make the paint smear but be hard enough to be able to clean the item?
I used “Martha Stewart High Gloss/Super Brilliant Finish” on this resin truck and the paint smeared.

Hi Debbie. Have you tried a good polycrylic like Minwax or General Finishes? They won't yellow and will leave a nice clear coat that you can wipe clean.
I use Krylon clear spray.
I have done this and have used Minwax polyacrylic, it did the trick.
Have you tried Mod Podge? They sell both a Matte and Shine finish.
Lacquer in the spray can. Three light coats should do the trick. Poly can make the paint bleed. It's the solvents in it. A few coats of Mod Modge may also work.
I would try mod podge . Good luck !!!
Rustoleum makes lacquer in spray cans. Mod Podge does not yellow. Oil based poly has a yellow cast and does yellow over time. Can react with paint. Good on raw wood. Water based poly is clear and does not yellow.
