How do I repaint/reglaze a bathtub?
I attempted the repaint /reglaze a bathtub using rustoleum tub and tile spray. I followed the directions and resulted in a very rough gritty finish. How can I fix this? Should I sand or buff smooth and use a roll on kit? What's the best kit?

It sounds like the tub may not have been cleaned enough before applying the new finish or dust from sanding got trapped in the paint. You may want to contact a professional tub refinisher to see what they recommend, but it sounds like it will need to be redone.
It night be worth contacting rustoleum to see what suggestions they have?
As a general contractor we have seen mixed results with re-glazing so do offer it with caution. A new cast iron tub can last 50-100 years if properly maintained. A re-glazed tub may start to fail within the first year due to use and care. You also need make sure water does not sit for a long time around the drain or the rust can come through. You also have to be careful to not use overly abrasive cleaners or it can weaken the finish. If you don't use the tub that often the DIY version might be okay, if you don't want to replace the tub but it will get heavy use, I would recommend a company that specialized in re-glazing for a better finish.
Yes, contact Rustoleum.
Ask them how to remove it, as you don’t want to damage the tub itself.
If you hire a pro, make sure they guarantee their work, not only against defects, but also for durability.
I had my 2-person Jacuzzi professionally re-coated by a Jacuzzi factory-certified company and it had a drip in the finish!
Hi Kelly, you could try lightly sanding, clean it well and apply one more coat. Or you could call someone in to re glaze it, and lastly, you could call in the Bathfitter, you put an acrylic overlay right over your old tub, pricey but worth it
Never DIY it if you want it to last. Here's how I reglazed one: https://bachelorettepadflip.com/2014/07/03/glazed-over/
