Can you help me choose a color for painting my floor?
I am just about finished with room, I ran across a color I really like for the floor but also leaning toward a grey floor too. See photo of room and color samples of the 2 colors that I am leaning toward. Keep in mind that the perect greige color is a grey and beige tone together.NOTE: I have tried to copy and paste the perfect greige color for you to see but it will not allow me to copy the paste sample. Please refer to Sherwin Williams for the color sample. The color that is posted here is grey sanctuary.Honest opinion please.

Greige or any shade of gray
What is the color of the floor that is adjacent this floor?
What other shades of greige do you have in other finishes? I.e. walls, window coverings, accessories?
Your question posted as “...match my” and did not say what you wanted to “match”.
My professional opinion is, matching is not a good idea. Our eyes will immediately pick up on the differences between “a match”.
I recommend looking at the whole “composition” of the room and adjacent rooms. “Compliment” the “palette” of those rooms.
If you are still unsure, then go with a darker color and buy a sample-size and paint an area in the corner. Live with it day and night and see what you think before you get a gallon of deck and porch paint custom mixed.
I have a gray floor I love. Wall color is always easier to change. Are you painting the floor? If not, there are wonderful neutral flooring that you can change the look of with pretty area rugs, mats, or runners. If you are painting the floor, do some visits to some good paint stores. Your options are less limited than they used to be. My gray floor is a laminate, but, I have also painted floors in the past, and gray would still be my first choice.
Hi Susan, the beauty of using the greyish wood allows you to select just about any color you want, and, if that other color I see is a peach, t will match a lot of colors too, depends on how you want the room to look, a dark floor always looks really rich, but it shows everything, honestly you could go with a lighter neutral like a greige or any shade of just grey. I tend to lean towards a blue for the flooring, slate blue. I found this little list for you as well
Greige with beige undertones would be perfect. Tie the room together.
My advice is don’t obsess about getting the perfect tone ie get it right in the broad sense. Colour changes with daylight, reflected light and whatever other colours get reflected into it.
I agree that the greige will allow you to change your home décor pieces without having to worry about the "base" colors of the room.
I painted the floor “old” looking white. Then I painted in the center an “area” rug right down to to the fringe
Greige will be ideal. It will blend with either beige or grey and will be easy to find colorful rugs to add accent colors to the room in the future.
