What is the best sealer to use on a laminate kitchen countertop?
What is the best sealer to use after refinishing a laminate kitchen countertop? Also, what methods or kits have good results? Paint, concrete overlay, etc. Thank you!

Rustoleum makes a kit that I've heard good things about.
Hi Trish, there are many, many options for countertop refinishing, so it really depends on the look you'd like best in your home. Rustoleum offers kits to use to make your counters look like granite. They provide a clear sealer that works well and protects the work you've accomplished. There is also a product called "Rock Solid" that can provide a very hard, shiny surface to your cabinets. Both products I've mentioned are readily available to be seen and purchased at Lowes, Home Depot, etc. Maybe go and check out the line at one of those stores, then decide.

Hi, Trish!
If the countertop is laminate (Formica brand or Wilsonart), it shouldn't need a sealer. However, if the countertops haven't been refinished yet (and that may be what's being asked), kits from SpreadStone or Giani work well and come with a water based (and highly durable!) sealer in the kits. I hope this helps!
It depends on how you refinish it. I used epoxy on concrete to make it super durable and no maintenance. For paint, I've used several coats of polycrylic.
The kits I've seen and used had their own sealers. If you painted it, you could use a clear sealer.
