Yes, that is a very broad question. Last night I saw Nicole Curtis on HGTV, rebuild a staircase, but there can also be painting, carpeting, doing just the stairs and/or the risers, or the baseboard or railing. We need more information.

You have many options: Replace carpet, remove carpet and paint. Add a Runner down middle. Stain and or Stain and Paint (Tread and Upstand Riser). Use a Staircase Mural. Ceramic Tile, Lino or even wallpaper or any combination of the above. It's up to you etc.......... Enjoy the process
