After a good cleaning run baking soda and and lemon slices though the disposal.

I always use bleach
Buy a dollar store toilet brush (the globe round ones)
Put some dish soap on it and then stick it down the garbage disposal side and brush every which way you can.
While holding it still in the drain, but holding it above the bottom “grinding teeth” run cold water to rinse the brush.
Then carefully pull out the now-yucky brush and rinse the drain without the brush in it.
