Hi Linda. Have you ever worked with plastic canvas? There are lots of patterns on you tube to make just about anything. Last year I made 75 small baskets used as favors for my Aunt and Uncle's 50th anniv. Cut pattern pieces out of plastic canvas and stitch them together with yarn. You can buy plastic canvas sheets at any sewing/craft store. And very inexpensive. This would be a great way to use any leftover yarn.
If it is just a small ball of yarn, you could make wool dryer balls with it. The center of the wool dryer balls is a small ball of yard that you cover with the wool and felt it.
Store it until you have an idea you want to try out!
