Hi Debbie, I am not understanding your question. Are you asking what specific beam ceilings are called? There are many different types of beam ceilings actually. Coffered ceilings, tray ceilings. Then there are parallel rustic ceiling beams that give the farmhouse look. You can get faux wood beams or even a beam kit to recreate this look. Although I like it, In my opinion the rustic dark wood beam tends to go in and out of style.

My daughter has cathedral ceilings with beams. I really like the look of them. I think high ceilings are the key to having them look good.
