How do I build an entryway bench for storing shoes?
I would like to build a simple bench for my entryway so when we come into the house we can pull our shoes off and stick them under the bench where they won't be seen and be in the way when other people come by. Our foyer or entryway is the first room you come to as soon as you open the front door, which is our main entry way. Because of my husbands and sons job we pull our shoes off when we come in. Any ideas or pictures you could send! Thank you! Jacqueline

We bought one at Lowe’s cheaper than we could build it. I painted and added vinyl clings for a toy box 3 years ago. It has held up well and I know she is rougher than your family would be. 😝. It has a hinged seat.

Jacqueline....If you have an old bookcase you could use...could even add doors and if it is tall you can use a portion of it to display items as well as a pretty floral display. Good luck
Hi ! I saw a tutorial on this site fairly recently , where someone bought 3 or 4 wooden crates , attached them ( open end facing foward ) to a wooden plank .
they put either casters or small ball legs on the underside of the plank . Then attached another plank on top of the crates and painted or stained the whole thing , put a cushion on the top and baskets inside the crates !
Jacqueline, have you considered using baskets or faux woven baskets (plastic but look like real woven reeds) to put the shoes in on a shoe bench? That might help hide them. Here is a tutorial on building a shoe bench where the kids can sit down to remove shoes and put on slippers etc to keep feet warm in the house. I hope this will help! https://www.hometalk.com/diy/paint/furniture/plain-bench-to-pretty-pink-decor-bench-43330113
