You can buy wicks to place inside. Melted wax can then be poured in the jars.
Here is a video that should help you. Have fun doing these

DIY Crafts: Easy Upcycle Glass Jars Nautical Candle Holders
Hello I would suggest wiring a wire ring around the jar rim to include a handle and place a battery operated candle within. This might create a lantern look.
Additionally they make a spray painted frosted coating if you don’t want to change the look at your glass jar.
Paint your spaghetti jars with 2 or 3 coats of paint. Paint the lids too. You could decoupage with a pretty paper napkin. (You only need the top layer of the napkin.) Glue lace on the jars too. You could also buy small glass knobs to use as handles.
Paint or decoupage the jars or add some interesting filler. Turn the lid upside down (maybe paint first) and glue the lid to the open top of the jar. The lid will serve as a shallow place in which to set your candle Another option is to use a small saucer instead of the lid. If you want to use jars for the tall tapered candles, use marbles or decorative pebbles (both available at DollarTree) to fill the jars partially, then just "install" the tapers into the jars.

We recently used tall glass jars and place a thin brass candlestick holder inside with a candle. We put these on the tables at my daughter wedding. It turned out very pretty.
You could clean them out and then paint them and add a candle inside
