How can I use some of my broken ceramic utensils as decoration pieces?
Hi Guys, I was gifted some ceramics tablewares by my friend. Some of them got broken due to some reasons. So, I want to know is there any chance or way they can be of some use like some decoration pieces.
I have attached a pic as an example.

But on a different scale, what I have used my broken ceramics on is potted plants, they keep weeds somewhat at bay, slow evaporation and keep digging critters out.
Best to you.
You can make some beautiful mosaics with broken pieces of plates. :)
Make a mosaic or a trivet . You can break into smaller pieces and use glue to attach the pieces to a board or whatever you like and then use some grout in a nice color to fill in . There are several helpful examples on hometalk.com .
Break them some more and make a mosaic.
Hello in the past I have made mosaics with broken pottery and thrift store plates. I even did a birdhouse but flat items like trays might be the easiest to consider. I’m not sure if this upcycle craft will suit your existing decor or personal aesthetic needs.
Have you thought about searching the visuals on Pinterest for inspiration? There is a wealth of ideas and visual inspiration there for your consideration. That might lead you to decide on an idea or theme. After that I’ll be assembling materials and starting your project.

How To Make a Mosaic Garden Pot
Hi Kabuki,
Here's a mosaic tutorial from another Hometalk member that should help you. You'll need to break up the ceramics into smaller pieces. Put them in a bag and gently break them with a hammer, being careful not to split the bag open. Always wear safety glasses to protect your eyes. Wishing you the best.

Mosaic Cookie Sheet Serving Tray
Hi ! You can use it in a mosaic project ! First find a base piece for your project a serving tray or an end table with a lip around the edge . Go to a craft store like Michael's or hobby lobby and buy mosaic grout and some mosaic glass of tile pieces that will mix well with the color of your ceramic pieces . Break your ceramic pieces to smaller sizes and lay them down on your base , mixing with the other store bought pieces to mame a design you like . Once you are happy with it , use a glue like E6000 and lifting each piece , one at a time , glue it down back in place . Once everything is glued then follow the directions on the mosaic grout ! Have fun !!!
If mosaic isn't your thing, try gluing the piece(s) together and then decoupage something onto the surface. ModPodge makes a food and dishwasher safe product that you can use.
You can use the broken pieces to cover a flat surface. I have a friend who used plates and "tiled" a counter top area of a cupboard. It is lovely.

Break it up more and make some motif step stones for your backyard. :)
I have seen it broken into smaller pieces and used as art on a canvas!
you could incorporate some succulents in that crack on a board or break it up into small pieces to use as tray bottom
Smash them some more, then use the tile pieces to make a mosaic stepping stone!
sorry, I meant to include a link. Hopefully this gives you an idea of what I meant
