How can we keep ladybugs out of our farmhouse?
We have a farmhouse where ladybugs are dropped in mass from helicopters for pest control on crops. We've sealed the house everywhere we have found but they still get in. Looking for something to drive them out. Thanks!

You can spray the outside of your house with chemicals to keep any bugs away. Or you can let them in and suck them up in your vacuum where you find them. Not a great decision to have to make.
Since I've never had to deal with that many ladybugs, I have always just scooped them up and put them back outside. Your issue is different, so I found this article for you that goes into how to deal with them.

When they collect in a certain area leave them alone until the temp drops a little (they won't be inclined to fly around if you bother them when it is cooler). Then grab your vacuum cleaner and vacuum them up.
Make sure that you immediately change your vacuum bag and take it outdoors or they will re-infest your home.
Ace hardware sells a product called "Bug Be Gone"-this stuff works great-just keep it away from your children and pets.
Take a look at this link, it explains what is going on with them and what you can do to help the situation you have:

Sevin is a pesticide that is safe for gardens & pets. I would use the liquid version in an Ortho hose-sprayer & hose down the house & adjacent yards.
Hi Kathy, so sorry you are dealing with the pesky ladybugs. You can spray them with soapy water and they will die, but I know you want to keep them out. Hope this will help you. good luck. Citrus scents: Asian lady beetles detest the smell of citrus (as do most other bugs). Apply a citrus oil, such as lemon, orange, grapefruit or even lemongrass (not technically a citrus, but ladybugs still hate the smell) to infested areas to keep them away.Sep 19, 2016
