Hi Johnny, it depends on what the vases are made of. If they're concrete you will want to get a concrete paint, if their porcelain more of a spray paint might be better etc. Here's some fun ideas! https://designimprovised.com/2012/08/diy-night-painted-glass-vases.html
Making the guess that you have glass vases, you have a couple of options. I've seen some projects where they are painted with fingernail polish.
Paint the inside of the vase with enamel paint for durability.
Clean them first and get completely dry. Pour paint in and swirl around, dumping out any excess. Wait about a week for it to completely dry.

It will all depend what you want to use them for. There is spray paint, acrylic, mod podge, alcohol ink and unicorn spit just to name a few. Here are some unicorn spit ones I painted. https://uniquecreationsbyanita.com/category/unicorn-spit/

No doubt Hometalk has a slew of suggestions and it's going to depend on what the vases are made out of. Try using the search bar at the top left, I'm sure a ton of ideas will come up.
I've painted them before with spray paint.

Decorative painting or solids?
Plaid has a whole page on glass paint products I would look there or call their support line. They are very educational and helpful
I painted glass mason jars. In my case I painted a white background first then the blue flower on top. It’s have a nice clean background ( rear view) as well as support the flower true color and prevent streaky look. I painted My in waves painting one single color at a time which allowed the paint to dry and cure -this system work very well for me

Hi Johnny,
Brush or pour and swirl paint around inside the vase if glass, or spray paint the outside or use sponge brushes. Lots of effects can be made using different things to apply the paint. Have fun.....
