I need a way to "see" my fabric and not have to dig in tubs? Also how to store antique lace? Thanks a bunch!

Hi Pat, here are a few ideas you can try - http://andreasnotebook.com/the-best-ways-to-store-fabric/
For fabric can you roll it into tube shapes and mark the amount on a piece of acid free tape? You might have to take the top off the storage container, but it would stop you from having to dig. For the lace, maybe one of those hangers people use to hang their leggings on? That is presuming that you do not have a large amount. But if you looped it and draped it over, it should work even if you lay it down in a storage container.
I have small clear plastic storage containers with lids for my short lengths of fabric-about the size of a shoebox. I sort by color and the containers can be stacked. I can see the colors though the plastic. You can also buy larger containers-2 shoebox size- that stack for larger lengths of material. Having to dig through larger tubs would be frustrating!

I love this one for smaller fabric amounts. I think you could hang larger amounts on hangers in a closet. https://www.hometalk.com/diy/craft-room/cabinets/old-file-cabinet-to-classy-fabric-storage-29474654

I put my fabrics on an pants hanger, very simple and easily visible, it holds all lengths. Another pants hanger for the lace.
Thanks for all of these wonderful ideas! Know I have to get busy organizing all this fabric!!
I store mine on cardboard, similar to the way stores stack small quantities. Then you can "file" them in a tub.
How about using hangers - I've seen it done in thrift stores and it makes it really easy to look through them
