If it's an adult ladies cape you are looking for - there are many designs. The easiest would be to cut out a circle and then mark the middle. Cut from outside to centre point. Then cutting a neckline (maybe use a suitable plate or jumper as a guide)! You could then bind the raw edges with a contrast braid or blanket stitch etc.
You can also make slits in the front for access pockets. If not sure, try it out on an out sheet or make a paper pattern first. If you have blanket over that can be utilized too as tie for neck , pockets and or Hat.................Enjoy. Otherwise buy a pattern maybe from eBay etc........
