How do I paint plaid ?
I have a craft table that I would like to put a grid on without it being obvious that it’s a grid.

This table has two inch grid marks on it. It would just look like stripes if that is what you are thinking about doing.

How To Paint Buffalo Check
Hi! You would want a base color to paint the entire surface and then after measuring the top, divide it with painters tape and use two shades of a color, or different colors to create your design. If you have a plaid you want to copy, all the better! Stay well!

Hello Dawn,
Make a plaid by laying down a base coat. When dry, make a stripe of one of your colours down the item. Take next colour and make a stripe across the item, Then down the item with colour 3, followed with working across with colour 4. Proceed on this way, ensuring the paint is dry between each stripe before proceeding with the next colour. Best wishes.
What if you did it in a checkerboard pattern? Then it would look decorative. You could make each square 1".
You could try painting it on with a paint color just a tiny darker than the table
What is the top of the craft table made out of - wood, vinyl, ?
This post i wrote several years ago showed how I painted a plaid design on a table top. Maybe you can find some helpful tip in it? 😊
