Hang a net or lace or main or string curtain! Place a large piece of furniture across the room. back it with MDF or board and wallpaper or paint to suit the room or put another piece of furniture on the back of it! Place the couch across the room. Use a make a dressing type screen. Add Bi fold doors. Fix a roller blind to the ceiling.................Bamboo poles, etc................................

Hi Arlene, I would head over to your local salvage depot and look for light cheap doors. Than all you would need to get them to stand up is to put them together with hinges. After that you could paint them or wallpaper them etc.
What room(s) are you dividing?
The easiest way is to hang a curtain from the ceiling or use a floor to ceiling shelving unit.
If you can locate some used bi-fold doors, they are great to hinge togethr in sets for a room divider. Bifold doors are often solid or louvered and they are pretty easy to work with and not terribly heavy.
