I threw mine in my washing machine on hot and then laid the damp rug out on my deck in the sun for a few hours when it was really nice out. Worked great immediately! After that though a steamer would probably work and, of course, time will work too. Over time it will laid itself flat.
It will lay flat with time if you have a place to just lay it out for a few days. If you live in an area where there is warm enough sun right now you can lay it out on a deck or concrete slab in the sun. That will help. You could spritz it with a hose just to get it damp...not too much water. Just damp. Put some weight on each corner. Paint cans. A stack of heavy books. Cement blocks on a tarp.
Hello Bobbicorn,
Roll it from the finish into a roll again, then roll it on the wrong side. It should help to sort it out!
Just put something heavy like stacks of books in the areas where it's not lying flat.
Thanks everyone
Spritz with water or better yet, use a steamer. Then lay heavy items on it to flatten out. You may have to work in small sections. You can also turn it over to try and reverse the kinks.
I roll it backwards just with my fingers/hands, at the end that was tucked in the inside after it's laid down. Sometimes it takes a couple times. Once I had a tight weave rug that was stubborn and I set furniture along the edge for a couple days to help.
I have also rolled it backwards and then put heavy objects, like books on the edges to keep it down.
Put something heavy on the corners and wait!
Turn it upside down and place something heavy on it and leave it for a couple of days.
Flip it over and leave in the wrong side for a couple of days
We're waiting for a new rug for the home office. Agree - you can either leave it right side up or even better roll it over and put something heavy on the corners. Hope this helps! Hugs, Holly
