Do you have coffee? That might work. Just test a small piece first. :)
Hi Kim, you can stain them with coffee too.
I don't have coffee either, neither myself or my husband drink coffee or tea..any other suggestions
Kim: Coffee is the answer --- for SO many things! :-)
Soaking it in coffee should work.
Soak in a pot with tea bags or coffee.
Coffee stain will work, if you have that.
Do you have neighbors or friends who drink coffee? You could ask for their used grounds and then "brew" them again in hot water and dye your cording with it.
you could go to the dollar store and buy a large box of tea bags for $1 it would be a cheap and easy way to do your project

Since you have neither tea nor coffee, do you have liquid shoe polish. You could likely put a few drops of brown or tan shoe polish in some water and may diy "stain". Even some spices dissolved in water might be used.
Have any yellow onions? Keep the skins. Put a bunch in a stock pot, fill with water, simmer for an hour then add your cording. If it turns a bit yellow, add in some red or purple onion skins until you reach your desired shade.
just hand it to my toddler he will have it dirtied up in no time
Hello. I agree have you considered coffee? It does do a nice job even Heidi Klum’s current runway fashion show they took a print dress fabric and wanted to take the whiteness down and successfully used a coffee soak.
Thanks for all of your great ideas, and suggestions I had to go to store and bought the cheapest box of tea bags, so I'm off now to get my cord and soak it....
How about coffee?
