Remove Wax and Labels From a Candle and Repurpose the Jar
Candles come in the most beautiful jars, but I’m guilty of throwing so many away. Now that I know how easy it is to repurpose them, I’ll never toss another candle jar again!
Watch to see for yourself how easy cleaning out a candle jar is!
Step One
Pop your candle in the freezer for several hours. I left mine in the freezer overnight and that was more than enough time.
Step Two
With a screwdriver or butter knife, poke the edges of the wax until you loosen the wax enough that it pops right out.
Step Three
Wash out your jar with dish soap and hot water to get rid of the remaking residue.
Step Four
Add 3-4 drops of lemon essential oil to a microfiber cloth and get the candle labels wet. Let them sit for a few minutes then scrub them off.
Step Five
If there is any remaining residue, add a few drops of lemon essential oil directly to the label. Let it sit for a minute.
Step Six
With your microfiber cloth scrub off any remaining residue.
You now have gorgeous jars that don’t look like they ever even housed a candle. The possibilities for candle jars are endless. You could spray paint the jars and lids, add ribbons, etc. I popped greenery into one and am storing QTips in the other. I hope you enjoy this easy DIY. Share your candle jar projects with me, I’d love to see them!

Great candle DIY! I LOVE it, it's so cute
My interest in being the best candle maker I could be, lead me to take many classes to learn how to perfect my art. I also read books and researched everything I could.
I discovered that while there was tons of information available, only a tiny bit of it was actually useful. I was also fortunate to have the help of many candle makers from whom I learned how to be a master at candle making and how to impress everyone with my great smelling candles.
Candle Making 4 You equips me with the knowledge and skill so I can make my own candles in the comfort of my own home. I save money and make money at the same time. Several bonuses will also be mine when I purchase this system.
It's a course that teaches you how to become a professional candle maker for fun or profit. I highly recommend it. Here's a link to their site.
