Cheap? Put a rug over it.
You could fill the cracks and put an outdoor rug over it.
Do you have a picture of it so we can see what you are starting with? How big is the crack, length and width?
Thanks for the suggestions (existing condition attached). I said more efficient, not necessarily cheap. The best ratio cost/look. I want it to look good too.
note that there are some old planting areas around that I can reshape and fill with nice pebbles.
the cracks have been filled by previous owners, and re-cracked...
If you put a wood deck over it then you wouldn't have to worry about any concrete cracking. You don't mention the size of your patio but maybe it is something you can DIY. I would only stain it with a product that soaked into the wood and not something that you paint on and it sits on top of the wood like paint. that causes maintenance issues down the road. I use a linseed based product by Armstrong Clark. Best exterior stain ever! It's hard to know without seeing a total picture of what you are dealing with.
I would get leveling concrete and do a stamped design. It is going to be a lot of work but will look great.

Hello. We have tried using several different products from hardware stores to repair our cracks in our 2015 installed concrete driveway and we have been totally disappointed with all options that we’ve tried.
We tried the many quikCrete concrete repair caulks, and patching solutions along with the more expensive epoxy repair cartridge and everything looks like an eyesore. I hope you can find the appropriate answer to suit your needs.
If you’re considering to use any concrete repair products I suggest you look over review sites such as Amazon to look at the actual user reviews as well as Q&A‘s before you waste your time and money on these patching products.
Hello there,
You might be better off getting a Tarmac Driveway laid by professionals, that way they will also sort out the base for you.
The problem with cracks is once they start, if the reason for the cracking isn't corrected, they'll never go away and will continue to worsen. You can try painting over the whole thing after some touch up patching; loads of stencil ideas on Hometalk. Building over it will cause whatever you've built atop to fail.

I repaired mine with cement repair in a caulking tube from Home Depot. It will stand out so while the caulking is still wet sweep some 'dirt' from the porch itself across the caulking with a broom. This will stick to the wet caulking and blend into the porch so it won't stand out so much.
you could build a deck flooring over it here is some info for you
