Hi Cheryl, here is a project on Hometalk where they used a dresser:

And here is a you tube video where they used an ikea bookcase:

I think the key to turning anything into a bar is buying these racks:

We used these racks in our own home underneath cabinets above our sink in our sunroom. Automatic wetbar! Sounds like a great project! Have fun!
How To Turn A Curbside Dresser Into A Bar
You could add doors to the bottom 2 shelves. Also, add some type of legs to get it up off the floor to the right height.

Connect the three together with screws. Add a top to your liking like reclaimed wood ovre plywood or an old door from a salvage store near you. A couple of bar stools and you have a bar.
Here's some fun inspiration from here on Hometalk for a bar: https://www.hometalk.com/diy/basement/furniture/old-stereo-cabinet-turned-vintage-bar-6553014

Hello Cheryl,
Turn it around so the back is the front. Panel it with timber or cover with a wallpaper, then cut a larger top to use as bar and stick or stick and pin in place. Decorate to taste, maybe using tiles or laminate etc.
Here is a neat idea: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8zTZ6EgAsNk
Hi! Is it the right height for what you want? If not, I would raise on a new base. I would also consider putting a larger top on it. Good luck and stay safe!
We actually just did that to create a breakfast bar. Bought a 3x5 ft butcher block top, rounded the corners. It gave us a 12 inch over hang. Use decorative angle irons cor overhang. Love it.

If you’re going to make it higher & casters sound appealing, I’d screw a Harbor Freight dolly to the bottom, for $7.
If you want to “skirt” around the casters, 1x3’s can be easily tacked to the wood dolly.
