Had some friends that killed off the grass and replaced it with hens and chicks plants. There is also a rose moss that never needs cut. Hopes this helps
Remove the grass and make it one big lane with crushed gravel or stone. Then plant a garden on either side
Are you still needing to use it as a driveway?
We recently paved our gravel drive way with recycled asphalt. If you do that you need to put down a double layer of weed fabric first.
spray on salt water!
You could remove the grass and repave it
what's wrong with that ? I actually love it :)
I do too. Just wanted to see some ideals
Do you want to change the grass area or do you want to enhance the concrete?
Rake it and re seed it
If you still want to use as a driveway then a great way to spruce this up would be to dig out the grass/sod, lay in a couple layers of landscape fabric and put some gravel down. As far as the grass growing in the cracks, put boiling water on that area. That will have to be done a few times a year, buts its easy and good for the environment
I think putting gravel down is a good idea. Or, you could put pavers down in the center, as long as the pavers are level with the cement.
I think the idea of adding a moss in between that doesn't need to be cut is a great idea, too!
Well, as others have said, rake and re-seed for a beautiful strip between the 2 tire paths. Another thought would be to put down a product called Stepables, these are ground cover plants that give off a fragrance when stepped on. Here are some of the things Pinterest has done with them, see if any work for you:
If maintenance is an issue you could always put the synthetic grass in. This way you get the look of it but pristine green and perfect grass that never needs water or chemicals and fertilizers, AND no maintenance!
I have the same thing going on here.. We actually had the sides with pavers/slate when we bought the house.. We had to remove them, they all were breaking snapping in half with horrible sharp edges from parking on them. the middle strip was filled with gravel but just grows grass in the spring/summer anywho.. my fix? I seed it with clover.. it grows in nice and thick over the gravel , dies in the winter and comes back.. still needs to be mowed but gives enough cover that i don't suck it up (the gravel) and shoot it out like bullets.. lol
