Stained vinyl flooring?
There’s an orangey-yellow stain on the vinyl flooring of a used camper we just acquired, which had been covered by a throw rug. It’s old and there's no residue to scrape off. Any tips to lighten it or remove the discoloration?

'Could be from some kind of tomato based food (spaghetti sauce?) that spilt on the floor.Unfortunately, the acidity of tomato causes very stubborn stains on plastic. If the stain has already 'set', meaning that it was not completely removed before staining, it may be permanent.
What is the condition of the rest of the camper floor? Is the surface still shiny, or does it look like the original top coating on the vinyl flooring has since worn off?
Is it rust? Maybe try CLR?
Sometimes a rug's backing will react with a floor and cause a stain. Maybe you should just replace or cover the floor. I used stick-on vinyl floor tiles over a previous vinyl sheet flooring. That isn't perfect (tiles may eventually shift a little) but it would give you a new look. It is a camper and not a part of your house.
Try soaking with hydrogen peroxide & water 50/50.
The vinyl’s in very good condition except for that stain (as well as the rest of the camper) so I doubt I will be replacing it. It’s an odd shaped bright orange-yellow stain that’s about the size of a paper napkin. There’s no evidence of pet hair or damage, either.
Lots of time non slip rugs react to vinyl. Floorsxwill yellow under the rug. Not much to do other than leave it uncovered and Hope it lightens up.
Yellow staining does indicate moisture and/or hydrostatic pressure coming from your sub floor underneath the floor covering. A common phenomenon that occurs.
I did lighten that spot a little using baking soda and perixode mixed together. And I let the mix sit on the spot over night. Still there but not as noticible.

I had that in our camper and I bought Shout and sprayed it over baking soda and it lightened it almost completely.
