DIY Computer Crate Desk
Since we started using the computer daily due to the quarantine I wanted to make a little space for my kids.
somewhere where they can talk to their friends and family and also do their homework. I decided to make my own computer desk out of supplies I had in my garage. And it turned out so perfectly.
You will need:
Table top 19 x 41
4 legs 2 x 4
2 crates
Wood glue
Wood filler
Sander
Wood stain to your liking
The height is measured at 29in.
Please note we tried to do angle cuts but it got complicated so we just did straight edge cuts. We wanted this project to be as simple as possible
Simple yet functional
I laid the legs flat on the floor and let them dry overnight before putting the computer desk together
Once everything was dry it was time to add the table top. And combine the crates together to form shelving
Next I cut small legs about 1in to add some height to the crates
Then I used wood glue to attach the crates together. And used wood screws to keep them in place
Then I used the wood glue and screws to attach the table top
To cover the screws are used wood filler let it dry and sand it down
Then I started staining. I used a natural wood stain just to make everything look evenly
The finish look 😍
This little desk is perfect and I have moved it around my home to find its place, I've found it works in any location you choose.
At first it was in the kids play room then I moved it to the living room (photo below) I hope this inspires you to never throw away crates. You can do so much with them. 💕
