Tv over wood stove?
Can anyone tell me if they think mounting a TV over our wood stove would be safe? I was thinking about installing a mantle to help protect the TV from heat and channel it away from it.
this is literally the only large wall in our house, it would be ideal for a TV.

Wood stoves generate a lot of heat. I would check with the manufacturer of the tv.
I agree with Ann-placing a mantle/television above this stove would most likely be a potentially damaging situation (or worse). Have you contacted the stove's manufacturer to determine the heat output within the specific room in which you plan to use it? Typically, wood stoves can boil water and cook foods, generating a terrific amount of heat.
I don’t think I’d trust it. Tvs these day’s are so delicate
Do you have homeowners insurance? They might have already made that decision for you.
I have a wood stove and wouldn't put the tv over that. Heat and sensitive electrical equipment don't mix well.
Hi Ashley. I don't think it's worth the risk to install your TV over the wood burning stove. That could cause a dangerous situation. Good luck Ashley.
ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! A disaster waiting to happen. I had a wood burning stove 20 years ago and I'll never have another in my home again. My house caught on fire and I lost everything and I could have lost my family as well.
I am wondering why you don't have a fire resistant material on the wall behind the wood stove? I don't think your insurance company would approve this as it is now.
Way too hot for a TV. We heat with wood all winter and its too hot for any electronics.
Hi Ashley, the short answer for this question is no, there is way too much heat for anything to withstand. That being said, please check the link I attached, talk to the pros, they will know for sure, contact these guys

This is not a good idea, the heat from the wood stove will surely damage the television.
No.....woodburning stoves are much hotter than fireplaces! Don't ruin your tv! A mantel won't protect it.
